Thinsulate
Foam Techniques is pleased to announce that it is now stocking Thinsulate, 3M's market leading non-woven Acoustic and Thermal Insulation product.
Compressible, formable and easy-to-install, Thinsulate Acoustic Insulation occupies minimal space while providing excellent sound absorption.
A non-woven material with excellent sound absorbing properties, highly compressible, non-linting and lightweight by construction the product is easily die-cut to specification. Thinsulate has been calendared to support a polyolefin scrim on one side to protect the fibres.
The web is composed of 35% polyester staple fibres, and 65% polypropylene fibres. The polypropylene fibres are extremely fine, producing the high-energy absorption characteristics with the low weight. Polyester fibres are added to strengthen the web.
The fibres are hydrophobic, the product will not absorb water. Therefore the risk of mildew and odours developing are minimal allowing this product to be used in humid or moist conditions.
